The church I attend is City on a Hill located in the Lobo Theatre in the historic Nob Hill of Albuquerque, NM. I attend the evening service on Sundays. Here is how a service typically works:

Donovan Medina the worship leader guides us in our focus as we give glory and thanks to our God, Jesus Christ......
The supporting members on the band and always giving it their best:

......then Pastor Dave Bruskas takes the helm and delivers what God has placed on his heart....

We close in prayers and we ask for the word to mold and transform our lives....
and finally we repent of our shortcomings and submit our lives to Christ. We do this by taking communion which is an act of remembrance and honor of the sacrifice the Jesus endured on the Christ so that all would be forgiven and made whole......

Nicole and her family invited me over the community Super Bowl party. It was definitely an initiation to the level of intensity that some folks share toward football. It was heavily fortified in black and gold as the supports showed their true colors in a game that tested their strength and determination to see their team strive till the end for a mighty victory.....

In January my cousin and her fiance hired to me shoot their wedding in Phoenix, Arizona and the result was a culmination of multiple coordinated people pouring tons of effort into what became a truly remarkable day that will surely not be forgotten. The photography shown here will in an effort serve that purpose. It was been coupled with my graphic design skills into a 12x12 format, printed, and then was made in a 36 page leather bound album. The first and last images are single pages while the others are 2 pages side to side as a book will look. Check out the pages and enjoy. If there is critique to be heard please let me know. Thanks

If there has been one thing I've learned lately its that time with spectacular people can be over way too quickly. Maybe its the strange phenomenon that at one minute time seems to be standing still and at the next I blink and time becomes history. To make time last a little longer, I carved out 5 minutes to get a few photos of Chanelle:

Dara

Dara is super passionate about everything that she does. Pursuing a career as a dancer, she is currently studying dance at UNM and is performs with the UNM Jitterbugs Anonymous team. Dancing any chance she gets, her special interests are Middle Eastern dance, Lindy Hop, and various forms of modern dance. An inspiration to both watch and dance with, her smooth skills and elegant movements are a distinct characteric of Dara's style. The best part of working with Dara was capturing her in mid action as she danced. Then of course, with my interest in fashion and portrait photography, we stepped outside and found some creativity with some new angles. A beautiful and classy young lady it was, it was a pleasure to work with her. An amazing day, thanks Dara!

Jitter Bug's Anonymous Swing Dancing

Greg is a definitely a gentleman of superior quality. Since the early days of my youth, I've always know Greg to have an outgoing and approachable personality. Always eager and interested in the latest happenings in other people's life, I can't ever recall not having an engaging conversation with Greg. Of all the people I've met since moving here to Albuquerque, Sarah is definitely one of the most genuine and sincere. The first time I saw Sarah I was standing across the dance floor at Heights Community Center (CNM) and my mouth dropped as I thought to myself, "Wow, when do I get to dance with her!" Fortunately, I had the courage and so after a dance or two, if I was lucky that night, I found out that along with her stunning appeal, she also had a fantastic personality and engaging presence. I hold a great deal of respect and admiration for the way this beautiful and wonderful young lady acts and presents herself. I was overwhelmed when she agreed to let me take her portraits. It was an amazing session filled plenty of getting go, having fun, and plenty of laughs.......

Canyon de Chelly

Fortunately, after a heavy early Fall rain storm in which I was basically stuck in the mud and thus very limited in opportunity, the weather cleared the next morning I was able to take a few photographs of the very iconic and popular destination Canyon de Chelly. I wasn't able to spend much time here as I would have loved to have gone down inside the canyon to get the cliff dwelling shots that legendary photographers like Ansel Adams were able to capture. Yet, even from the brief amount of time I was able to spend here there was an instilled with a captivation and attraction to its pure beauty and awe that will surely be drawing me back for more......

The following image was a coincidence as I simply wanted to capture the bright red stop sign with the clouds in the back. The next thing I knew a car was speeding down the road leading out of the Canyon de Chelly.
This was taken an unpopulated government housing development near Chinley, AZ. I was a sight to behold with a plethora of new houses and no one living in them! The place had been taken over with weeds, debris, etc. It was super creepy, like it was a testing sight for a nuclear bomb or something. So I tried to capture that feeling here.....

Momument Valley

For a guy hailing from the southwestern part of the country, I was ashamed to say that I had never seen Monument Valley/ Canyon de Chelly. So I took a quick weekend to make the drive and check it out what the hype was all bout for myself. When I got there it definitly looked like we landed on another planet. As I got out the car for the first view, I felt like as well. The sand quickly imbeddid itself in my skin as the sand and dirt blew in the wind of an oncoming storm. As the weekend ensued, I didn't get the overwhelimg dramatic clouds and bursting rays of sun that I was hoping for, but I did manage to have fun and take a few photographs for the pure joy of just being there. I hope you enjoy as well. Please comment if you feel the urge, critique = growth :)

Cumbress & Toltec Scenic Railroad

With very little expectation and an adventurous spirit I simple wanted to capture a bit of the early fall colors while I was visiting family in Northern New Mexico (near Chama). So I set off in the afternoon driving north on CO 17 and after reaching the top I realized, much to my surprise, that the Cumbress & Toltec Train was heading my way. So here are some of the images taken from an afternoon chasing the train. This was my first time photographing a train so any critique will be welcomed generously. I appreciate it!........

A brief rundown of my photography of Nepal:
My college career began as a cross cultural ministry major in pursuit of the traveling the world to reach people with the Gospel message. I met an amazing friend along the way and her name is Kamana. Seen below with myself, in Sarangkot, Nepal with the back drop of the Annapurna South and Machhapuchhre of the Annapurna range:

A native Nepali of Kathmandu, she started her undergrad at Grand Canyon where we shared our different ideas of faith, culture, and aspirations of the future. As the story goes, I left GCU and two years later she informed me about visiting her family in Nepal. Filled with anticipation, I could barely gather myself after she informed me that I was invited to go along with her and her friends. In the future posts I will show just a bit of my life-changing experience.

To start of is my attempt to capture people with definitive relationship between their expression and their surroundings.

Hello,

My name is John Rosner and I am a photographer currently working and living in Albuquerque, NM. After relocating for Farmington, NM, I found a position with Sarah Eastwood and Eastbrook Studios as a photographer/ graphic artist. Since then my career has shifted into a higher gear and I'm finding an incredibly ability to grow and expand my creativity. I am currently pursuing travel/ photojournalism as my secondary and more personal avenue for exhibiting the way I see things. In the near future I will to be posting images and accompining words that capture my interests, both from the work I do for Sarah and my own projects. I look forward to see you soon.
